Savanna Heritage and Tourism Consultancy is a Consulting firm that provides heritage and tourism consultant services to both private and public sector clients base in Zimbabwe.The company is based in Harare; Zimbabwe.It consolidates the efforts of several consultants, travel agents, and researchers in our areas of specialisation. It was founded in 2012 by Bright Mutyandaedza, a passionate traveller and cultural heritage and tourism consultant when he was a 4th-year student, studying Archaeology, Cultural Heritage Management, and Museum Studies at the Midlands State University.

Qualifications: Bright holds a BA Honours in Archaeology, Cultural Heritage Management, and Museum Studies from Midlands State University in Zimbabwe. He also holds a Master of Arts in Archaeology from the same institution.

Passion and Expertise: A passionate archaeologist, Cultural Heritage Practitioner, Guide, Environment activist, Travel blogger, and Museum Curator, Bright has vast experience in managing heritage and tourism facilities.

Memberships: He is a member of the Zimbabwe Association of Professional Archaeologists and Related Disciplines (ZAPAD) and the Association of Southern Africa Professional Archaeologists (ASAPA).

Ms. Thamary Mukuya
Ms. Thamary Mukuya

Cultural Heritage Management Practitioner & Project Management Professional (PMP)®

Consultant & Project Manager in Heritage & Tourism


Ms. Thamary Mukuya holds a MA in Archaeology from the University of Zimbabwe and an Honours Degree in Archaeology, Cultural Heritage, and Museum Studies from Midlands State University. She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP)®.

Thamary has extensive experience as a Consultant on Heritage, Archaeological, and Tourism projects. She has worked on World Heritage Site development, including conservation management plans and the nomination of sites for UNESCO inscription.

Her research interests include cultural heritage documentation, preservation, and heritage tourism development. She is a member of PMI, ASAPA, and ZAPARD.

Thamary has worked on projects such as the Richtersveld Cultural and Botanical Landscape and various management plans for South African and international heritage sites. Recently, she has worked on the Cango Caves Conservation Management Plan and the Robben Island Integrated Management Plan.

Archaeologist & PhD Candidate

Expert in Faunal Analysis & Paleoenvironmental Reconstructions


Humphrey Nyambiya is an archaeologist and PhD candidate with a focus on faunal analysis, paleoenvironmental reconstructions using fauna, and cultural heritage management. He holds a BA Hons in Archaeology from the University of Zimbabwe (2018) and an MPhil in Archaeology from the University of Cape Town (2021).

His research focuses on understanding human-animal relationships, subsistence strategies, exploitation behaviours, and past environments from Stone Age sites in South Africa.

Humphrey is a member of the International Council for Archaeozoologists (ICAZ) and the Association of Southern African Professional Archaeologists (ASAPA).

The service was aimed at implementing environmental and social impacts management, capacity building, tourism promotion, and economic development, and governance, and economic & cultural empowerment of the local communities.

Savanna Heritage Institute, a division of Savanna Heritage & Tourism Consultancy has launched a Community development program that focuses on indigenous cultural heritage, African tradition and cultural economics. Savanna Heritage Institute aims to advance and promote African pride through appreciation of cultural and natural heritage, Indigenous Knowledge Systems.

Serima Mission prides itself as a home of famous school of African art and early forms of practical schools in the then Rhodesia. The architectural beauty of the church and the art is beautiful beyond measure. As part of our drive to revive underperforming sites, resorts, and destinations to promote tourism in Zimbabwe, we adopt and develop destinations to maximise their potential by rebranding the site so that their proper value will make the site attract the necessary attention in terms of urban tourism these being Recognition, Conservation, Allocation of resources (infrastructure) and Tourist Flows.
